Former President of Foundry, an IDG Company, and expert in Tech Marketing and Sales Joins Scoot to Accelerate Growth
Dallas, TX – August 20, 2024 – Scoot, the experiential meeting and webinar platform that captivates customers and accelerates sales, today announced the appointment of Kumaran Ramanathan to its Board of Directors.
Ramanathan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Scoot, having served as President of Foundry for six years. With over 30 years of experience across multiple geographies and products, Ramanathan is a recognized expert in the tech sector with a proven track record in helping companies build and execute their pipeline.
“So many deals go missing in the mid and lower pipeline, and it’s a real problem for sellers that needs addressing,” says Ramanathan. “I like the way the Scoot team has built a solution that is specifically designed to accelerate sales, challenging the current static platforms and putting movement, engagement, analytics, and actionable insights at the heart of the proposition. It’s a compelling solution for sellers.”
Ed Stevens, Founder and CEO of Scoot, expressed his enthusiasm about Ramanathan joining the board, stating, “Ram’s deep domain knowledge of the tech sector, his track record in working with the world’s biggest tech brands, and his understanding of the global webinar and meeting applications space make him an invaluable addition to our team. We are fortunate to have him join us as we continue to grow and scale our business.”
Ramanathan added, “Ed is a serial innovator and has built a great team. Rarely do you get a chance to be part of a team that is going to shift how the world does business. I feel very fortunate to join Scoot and be part of the ‘Movement’ movement.”
This appointment to Scoot’s board coincided with the company’s blockbuster summer product release, which included new capabilities for hosting webinars and customer-facing meetings and events.
“Legacy, static webinar platforms are good for broadcasting non-interactive, top of funnel content that is not much different from a video or whitepaper. A lot of prospects don’t want to interact with anyone at the top of the funnel,” Stevens says. “At the mid and lower funnel, though, it’s all about giving the buyers a rich and valuable experience. Buyers want to interact with company executives, subject matter experts, and even with each other. Scoot and the magic of movement are a revolution for this kind of virtual meeting and webinar.”
